Sometimes you just need a jumpstart. A reboot. A guide to get the ball rolling.
That’s exactly what I’ve created for those who’s digestion has been rocky.
I’m often approached by people that want to feel better fast and want recipes to get them there. But the truth is, a food that would do your digestion wonders might make my digestion or body feel crummy.
Health is not a one size fits all process. And, unfortunately, one recipe will not solve all of your problems, but it could be the jumpstart you need.
And one recipe could give your body a reprieve from feeling bad.
I traveled to New York over the weekend. While I travel I do my best to eat nourishing food. I bring beans with me (love Brami as a snack), I always have a few lemons in my suitcase for morning lemon water, I load up on ginger tea, I make a gross concoction of psyllium husk + flax seeds to chug in the morning, and I scour menus for healthy proteins, fiber, and greens.
But the bottom line is, it’s not the same as food I eat at home. It doesn’t make me feel as good.
Flying always makes me puffy and bloated. My routine is interrupted so my digestion slows down, and my body isn’t into the processed oils they use at restaurants. I feel sluggish, bloated, and just not my best when I get home from a trip.
The morning after I got home though, I knew what my body needed…. water, liquids, warm foods, beans, greens, and a lot of protein (I also tend to go heavier on the carbs when I travel).
I snagged my kitchari recipe from this quiz because it was what my body needed, cooked it up, and will be eating it throughout the week.
And it feels soooooo good.
Your body is probably in a different place than mine.
You might need a more nourishing breakfast, or maybe some fermented foods.
It will take in what your life has been like, how your body feels, what your routine is, and meet you right where you are, sharing one recipe you can make to improve your bloating.
It won’t solve all of your issues, but it will probably make you feel better and get you going down a path of healing.
XO
